We've Just Been "Boo-ed"!!

Yup, the doorbell just rang and no one was there!! It was the neighborhood ghost - who is a friendly ghost - and left us two bags of incredibly fun Halloween treats.

And not just candy, we got candy corn candles, blinking eyes to affix to our windows and even, and I know you'll find this hard to believe, little cocktail glasses with spiders on them that are clearly marked "mom" and "dad." A very friendly ghost indeed!!

So does everyone do the "booing" thing in their neighborhoods? I'm interested in knowing what others do, particularly to keep the adults interested. Ha!

Okay, time to go see who got voted off "Dancing with the Stars"...yes, it's my guilty pleasure. My little one leaves for a 3-day camping trip with her class to Maine tomorrow so I'm feeling rather fragile. I know...what a sap I am!! (I cry at MasterCard commercials so leave me alone!)

My kids are begging to go booing. I think I enjoy it as much as they do. It's ding-dong-ditch-it without the getting in trouble! But I thought about the parent angle too. MAybe on Mother's Day we should "Yo' Momma!" our friends and on father's Day "Who's Your Daddy?" them. We could leave cans of beer, coupons, babysiting IOU's, bottles of wine.....hmmmm

  2. You are a genius!!
I LOVE 'Yo Momma' it's absolutely brilliant. I am going to implement it in my neighborhood on Mother's Day and you do the same and we'll kick start a national trend! I'm hoping for a day at the spa, the numbers of several good babysitters and wine...you?

Love the "yo momma" idea!!! what mom wouldn't love to open the door to find a basket filled with all the essentials she needs to make it through the day - vodka, tequilla, bon bons....the possibilities are endless!!!!! no more of these holiday ideas for the kids - they get enough anyways!! time for the moms!!!!

Not sure how I feel about "booing" or the potential negative connotations of being "Who's Your Daddied," but I'm always open to the idea of getting gifts delivered to my door. My kids and I would love to receive a nice bottle of Knob's Creek Kentucky Bourbon.

  5. We love "booing". Thanks for reminding us. I think we will prepare tonight. Also, loved your video on family guy. My husband ignores those repetitive requests for "whatever" but I just can't seem to block it out and will ultimately say: "WHAT??!!"....something as a child I hated when my Mother did it to me and vowed I would not do it as a Mother....hmmm....now I understand and I was one of 5! I only have 2! Caroline
