I'm going to a formal event tonight with a client. I am excited about the event - which is going to feature a gourmet meal and plenty of wine - it's the outfit that has me a bit distressed.
As a mom, you just don't have many occasions to wear floor-length gowns, taffeta dresses, 4-inch heels and sequined wraps. I get a lot of my work clothes from places like Old Navy so you can imagine my despair at piecing together something for a dressy evening event.

I ended up pairing it with a vintage-looking jacket with silver sparkles that I got from Marshalls for $15!! It actually looks fairly decent. I grabbed my dressiest patent leather pumps and I think I'm good to go - If I can walk in these things!!
I'll update you again tomorrow. Have a great night - it'll be a couple days before we get used to the time change. So what time do you think our children will arise tomorrow? I'm betting around 5am. That should be fun!

ReplyDeleteHad a great time. And I think I looked fairly decent for a middle-aged mom who doesn't travel in these high falutin' circles anymore. Plus the meal was nothing to sneeze at - 7 courses!! No one in my household will ever see that from me...I'm the anti-Martha!!
