Death, Taxes & Tolls

They say there are two things in life that are certain: death and taxes. Well, if you live in Massachusetts there is a third: toll hikes. Yup, now in addition to paying up to 19 cents in gas taxes we are going to have to pay like $387 (or some absurd amount) to travel through the Sumner tunnel - it's really not that nice a ride. And there is a good chance that something coud leak, crack or fall on your head while passing through...I'm just saying.

So as I prepare to have my taxes done tomorrow night, I am hoping for a tax refund so that I will have enough money to pay for the additional tax and toll hikes. It's sort of redundant. They might as well just keep it, right? I mean what's the point when the government ultimately takes it in the end? Seems like an awful lot of work to just keep passing the buck - literally - back and forth and back and forth.

Off my soap box and on to more important things...let's see, Idol is on tonight. Gotta love mind-numbing reality TV! In fact, I'll post an article about that tomorrow from guest contributor Sue Thomson.

Meantime, is winter over yet? And why do you have to sign up for summer camp so dang early these days? Too much pressure...

was thinking the same thing today - why bother teasing us with a big tax refund when all you're gonna do is tax us up the ying-yang all year??!
