Stumble, Tweet, Digg, Repeat

Hey Pill Fans,

So I'm sitting reading this really great book which - in theory - is supposed to help me understand the whole world of social media marketing. It is called, quite appropriateley the Social Media Marketing Book and it has helped me so I do recommend it. However, implementing these ideas is quite another story since it is well documented I have the technical skills of a hedgehog. I understand the value of these social hubs, I just can't understand how to get the badges and tags and widgets and bags onto my site. I Reddit but can't get it - Digg?

Of course the author, Dan Zarella, is all of about 28 so he grew up with this stuff. I grew up in the high-tech world of rabbit ears, pac-man, table tennis and 8-track tapes. (Can you hear Duran Duran in the background?) Anyway, now I'm supposed to know how to decifer HTML and embed magic code that will drive traffic to my site, get me ranked higher (somewhere) and possibly make me a tuna sandwich. I want this. I need this. But huh? What's a non-techy blogger to do?

Call her brother of course. He's my first line of defense. He is 7 years younger and was able to catch that "super geek turns knowhow into highly marketable skill and now I make more than you" wave. Yeah. I kind of hate him.

I am also on Kirtsy.com attempting to submit a story, hoping that people who don't know me will vote on it and I guess eventually become my friend or fan or follower or the godparents of my children. Maybe there is a badge or button for that too. God knows I don't have a clue where to get it...perhaps, if I'm really lucky, I'll just Stumple Upon one.

Let me know if you see any. Meantime, happy weekend!
Sue
