Hello all,
As the school year winds down, it is busier than ever. I'm sure all of you are in the same boat with spring concerts, end-of-year field trips, parent-teacher conferences and the like. Katie is "moving up" to middle school which brings its own set of activities. Since the girls go to a charter school, middle school is 7th and 8th grade and the moving up ceremony is a bonafide rite of passage. Honestly, I'm not sure why there is quite so much fuss. We moved up, out and around without much pomp and circumstance but I must constantly remind myself that this is another time. Emma is fortunately staying in the same classroom as she is entering 6th grade (class is a mix of 4th, 5th and 6th graders). That gives us a little reprieve.
My parents arrive this weekend from Florida. They spend the summers here in New England and will start with a week at our house. Tom and I are going away - alone - for 6 days while they are here and we are both so excited!! We will miss the girls but will not worry since they will be in very capable hands and being spoiled daily. I've come to realize that they enjoy the break from us and the change in routine and probably need it as much as we do - okay, not as much as we do but you get my point.
Time to wrestle the girls out of bed and get ready for work and school. Enjoy your Thursday everyone. Oh, happy that Lee won Idol last night, Tom wanted Crystal. Both will do fine I'm sure.
Enjoy your day,
Sue
