Not in the mood to be funny today because I just found out my uncle had a stroke last night and it's pretty serious. He's the oldest brother of my mom and like a patriarch in her family. Really sucks to see such a vibrant guy get leveled like this. I am praying very hard that he comes through.
He is a big fan of my writing and has sent me many notes over the years. Most recently, I was planning to send him a compilation of some of my columns and never got around to it. The crap of every day life got in the way and now I regret not connecting back with him. Why do we miss key human interaction because of the minutia? I wish I knew how to prioritize better, how to "get around" to that stuff before you realize it could be too late.
