Hi friends,

It's been an emotional day for me. I am done with my radiation treatments and sooooo very happy. However, when you are going through something like this, you sort of put yourself on auto pilot. Today, after my last zap, it all hit me. I felt sort of lost and like "what the hell just happened to me?" I'm healthy and great and all that but you almost feel like "now what?" All this fuss and I just go live my life now? Six weeks of having people take care of you and then you're just done, free to go. It's weird.
It reminded me of leaving the hospital with your first born. You have people crawling all over you in the hospital and then you strap this new person into a car seat and away you go. Good luck!!!

Anyway, I'm happy. And I have the best friends EVER!! Tracey, thanks for stopping by and having a drink with me and bringing me dinner. Chris, thanks for showing up with a bottle of champagne. Tom, the roses are breathtaking. I know, I'm spoiled!!
On with the wonderful mundaneness of everyday life - I can sleep an extra hour tomorrow morning!!
wahoo....I am so happy for you that this day has come. You are amazing! I wished we lived closer and I could celebrate with you, but it makes me happy to know you are surrounded by such great friends. Love you!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all your support, your warm wishes, phone calls and for just being there. You are a great friend and I am lucky to have you!

Yes, please guys...this money will go to the North Shore Cancer Center. An incredible health facility. If anyone can spare a few bucks, any and all donations are SO appreciated. This is the least I can do to give back to the care givers who were so instrumental to my experience. Just hit the "first giving" icon at the top left of my page. From the bottom of my hear, thank you.
